The Rise of WeMade: A New Era in Blockchain Gaming

WeMade, the South Korean gaming giant, has been making waves in the industry with its innovative approach to blockchain gaming. Despite facing setbacks and losses in previous years, the company is now seeing a glimmer of hope as its ambitious crypto pivot seems to be paying off. WeMade’s flagship project, the WEMIX coin and platform, has been gaining attention in the crypto market, with its 24-hour trading volume reaching an impressive $17.8 million on March 13.

One of WeMade’s recent victories is the launch of its latest title, Night Crows, which has quickly captured the hearts of gamers around the world. The game debuted in over 170 countries and attracted 150,000 concurrent users within a day of its release. This success surpasses the company’s previous title, MIR4, which reached 120,000 concurrent users within a month of its launch in 2021. WeMade is proud of this achievement and believes that Night Crows could generate significant revenue for the company.

In addition to its gaming success, WeMade has unveiled an interoperability platform called Unagi, which allows users to navigate between major blockchain ecosystems seamlessly. This platform serves as a bridge between WeMade’s WEMIX 3.0 network and other protocols like Ethereum, Klaytn, Avalanche, and Polygon. With the launch of Unagi, WeMade is demonstrating its commitment to innovation and adaptability in the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape.

Despite its recent triumphs, WeMade has faced challenges and losses in the past. The company posted losses of around $85.5 million in 2023, partly due to an unsuccessful legal battle against the delisting of the WEMIX coin in 2022. Additionally, WeMade received a hefty $41 million crypto tax bill in January of this year, adding to its financial strain. However, the positive response to Night Crows and the rising value of the WEMIX coin suggest that WeMade may be turning the tide and heading towards a brighter future.

CEO Jang Hyun-guk expressed optimism about WeMade’s blockchain business, stating that the global launch of Night Crows in 2024 will mark the company’s greatest success to date. As WeMade continues to innovate and evolve in the blockchain gaming space, it is clear that the company is poised for further growth and success in the coming years. With its dedication to pushing boundaries and overcoming obstacles, WeMade is setting a new standard for blockchain gaming and solidifying its position as a key player in the industry.
